Optix has a variety of charts meant to give the tools you need to visualize all of the necessary metrics for your business!
Gauges |
Headlines |
---|---|
Used to show the advancement of sales and marketing activities/metrics as compared to the goal or max value. | Used to show a simple metric/measure or to draw attention to one key number. |
Capabilities: Clearly shows progress towards reaching a Goal or manually entered value. Can set a “max” and “min” values directly in sprocket menu of the visual with custom color ranges for thresholding. |
Capabilities: Designed to display simple data Compact, clear and precise. |
Considerations: Cannot show comparisons to previous period or goal. Does not display granularity or trends over time. |
Considerations: Does not display trends over time. Formatting provided based on data type (change in dataset). |
Trending Headline |
Donut |
---|---|
Used to show the trend of a simple metric/measure or to draw attention to one key number over time. | Used to show a simple metric/measure or to draw attention to one key number. |
Capabilities: Designed to display simple data over time. Compact, clear and precise. |
Capabilities: Designed to display simple data Compact, clear, and precise. |
Considerations: Can only show 1 comparison percentage (compare to previous period OR progress to goal OR same period last year etc.). Does not display granularity or trends over time. Formatting provided based on data type (change in dataset). |

Pie Chart |
Bar/Column Chart |
Used to illustrate numerical proportions through the size of the slices. | Used to show comparison between values. |
Capabilities: Great for showing distribution. |
Capabilities: Especially valuable when you want to compare different Dimensions to each other. |
Considerations: Doesn’t show comparison percentages. Does not display granularity or trends over time. |
Considerations: Can only add data from Single Metrics. |
Line Chart |
Area Chart |
Used to give a more in-depth view of the trend, projection, average, and growth of a metric over time. | Used to give a more in-depth view of the trend, projection, average, and growth of a metric over time. |
Capabilities: Allows you to visualize patterns over a longer period and compare data to a previous period or goal (or both) Common visualization that most people can easily analyze. |

Single Y Combo Chart |
Dual Y Combo Chart |
Used to compare two different metrics (combination of the area, bar, and line graphs). | Used to compare multiple different metrics (combination of the line and bar graph) |
Capabilities: Ability to compare the movement/ patterns of one metric directly to the movement/ patterns of another. This allows the viewer to easily recognize the correlation between these metrics. Automatically adds second y-axis when the difference between Metric values is reasonably large (greater than 3x difference). This allows users to better identify fluctuations between two Metrics. |

Considerations: The second y-axis is automatically generated when the difference between Metric values is 3x or more. This is automatic and cannot be disabled. |

Time Series Chart |
Overlapping Bar/Column Chart |
Used to compare numbers side by side (more advanced version of the Number Visual). | Used to show comparisons between values. |
Capabilities: Can show comparison percentage or progress to goal. |
Capabilities: Especially valuable when you want to compare different Dimensions to each other. |
Considerations: Does not display granularity or trends over time. |
Considerations: Can only add data from a single metric. |

Pipeline Chart |
Funnel Chart |
Used to show the evolution of lead generation through the connection of marketing and sales data. | Used to compare two different metrics (combination of the line graph and bar graph). |
Capabilities: Display data horizontally. Limit of 10 “rows” that can be added and uniquely mapped. “Sort” functionality tells the system whether or not to automatically rearrange the “row” items based on their value (highest → lowest) in order to create the typical “pipeline” visual. “Step Conversion” option available: Can choose “Step by Step,” which shows the conversion percentages from stage 1 → stage 2, stage 2 → stage 3, stage 3 → stage 4, etc. Can choose “From First Value,” which shows the conversion percentages from stage 1 → stage 2, stage 1 → stage 3, stage 1 → stage 4, etc. “Show Percent” toggle allows you to turn these conversion percentages on or off |

Static Content (Text & Images) |
|
Used to display comments or add additional information to a storyboard. | |
Capabilities: Allows the user to manually enter text or images directly onto the Storyboard Great to provide context and instruction to the viewer of the Storyboard |
|
Considerations: Since this is manually entered text, it is not updating regularly like other Visuals on the Storyboard |
